I don't see why whoever said walk in shops would be hard to implement believes that to be the case. There are small caves and such throughout explorable areas in Tyria, and many indoor environments on the same map as outdoor environments in Cantha... The question becomes one of pathfinding, part of the beauty of Guild Wars is that if you're in the middle of a town you can, for the most part, look around and see the NPC you want click and run straight to them. Occassionally you get stuck and have to go around a particular signpost or something, but if you had to go up stairs or enter a building it adds even more chance of getting stuck on things.
I also can see where adding more advanced pathing would get in the way of some of the PVP strategy, right now being able to squeeze out of body blocks manually is a skill, one that is fairly useful in some situations. However if they had perfect pathing AI for PCs in GW then you could get past things such as that much easier. [rant]However I do dislike the portion of the pathing system that decrees ridiculous bouncebacks only for keyboard users, I hate when I run up a staircase and then bounce back to the foot of it for no apparent reason besides the fact that I use the keyboard more than the mouse to get to my targets.
